Probably the best thing for me is (as someone here pointed out) the mod for BeamNG drive. I've not kept up with the motorsport at all since then, but I do have a soft spot for going back and watching old tapes like I linked in the post, and I still really enjoy them. I guess I've just always wanted to see the advancing physics/graphics of video games do something to re-create the look/feel of the monster truck tapes I watched in my youth. I'm one of those people so if you have any questions feel free to hit me up. It also depends how into it you are because those that like it as a video game and those that like the Motorsport are two different people and even fewer that mesh together. There's no real coordination other than user-done which is the paining part of the niche Motorsport. But yea I heavily recommend Rigs of Rods because it's quite good as a realistic feel and is free. That is the last one that I used and we used to stream races from this one back before Twitch was a big thing. Nowadays I believe the most common/best racing leagues are in Rigs of Rods. Monster trucks are very niche but I've been following them since a young child. We had groups and leagues where we would create and race custom and realistic monsters from the era. I won the classic and overall PPRL league titles from that year back in the day. Okay so history time I actually raced in MTM2 all the way up until 2008? I think? Back when the only way to actually race together was to create servers for each other. I do know that there was a Bigfoot-licensed phone game with drag mechanics, and even an older model truck based on Bigfoot 1, but it had some terrible controls, and was, well, a phone game, which I don't really bother with these days.Īll of the content for this type of stuff is user created these days. It doesn't help my views that monster trucks were more interesting in the past, before technology/Bigfoot research turned them into over-the-top dune buggies, so the video games have come to reflect that.
